liz has written drama and comedy tv for hulu, disney, dreamworks, netflix, ava duvernay, the long-running british sketch satire series spitting image, and for the josh weinstein/matt groening series disenchantment, where she also wrote, directed and produced songs for the show. liz worked for aaron sorkin on the newsroom and jason katims on nbc's parenthood. 


liz has developed original comedy series, drama series and feature films, and she often works and directs with her sister jes suggs. liz grew up in dallas. she has a master's in journalism and was a columnist for the dallas morning news

ABOUT

​​​​​​liz has written songs, musicals and feature films for disney, lincoln center, the kennedy center, netflix, dreamworks, brian stokes' mitchell's new album, cabarets and symphonies throughout the country. she's a winner of the ascap Mary Rodgers/lorenz hart award. her musical one good day with composer rona siddiqui (2020 jonathan larson award-winner, tony-winning and grammy-nominated music director of a strange loop) was named best new musical by the festival of new american musicals, and premiered at the ascap/dreamworks musical theatre workshop in l.a.with stephen schwartz, the imagen workshop at msu, and in concert at the kennedy center. ​her comic musical real hard math with composer Josh Jung, about her time as a high school teacher, has played at barrington stage, the kennedy center, on the pbs tv series musicals in the making​, and at the NYU black box, starring tony-winner ruthie ann miles. 

liz wrote on the acclaimed webseries submissions only, which entertainment weekly called "the BEST show not on tv" and new york magazine called "the best (funniest, smartest, warmest) series ever made about show folk", where she wrote for many of broadway's funnest and best: Kristin chenoweth, lin-manuel miranda, kelli o'hara, jesse tyler ferguson, audra mcdonald, joel grey, nick jonas, brian d'arcy james, kate wetherhead, andrew keenan-bolger, santino fontana, annaleigh ashford, chita rivera, jeremy jordan, rachel dratch and so many more.
